Asked Questions

From your personal email account that you have registered in the university’s academic system, write to the following email address admincorreo@correo.uis.edu.co, specifying your basic information

that identifies you as a student of the Campus UIS Barbosa (full name, code, career, Campus), requesting the sending of a new password to access your institutional email account.

1. On your device, identify the UIS Community network.

2. Click on connect and enter your login details to the UIS Student Information System

Notice: In the case of Android mobile devices, if it asks for “CA Certificate”, the option “Do not validate” must be selected. If the network asks for a domain, type: uis.edu.co

It is important to note that the access credentials to the wifi network “Comunidad UIS” are the same used to access the academic information system.

  1. Verify that access credentials to information systems are correct and current.

  • If you are a student, check from another device by logging in to the student module with the known credentials.
  • If you are a professor, check from another device by logging into the New Versions information system, with the known credentials.

2. If you are able to log in to the information systems, but still cannot access the “UIS Community” network, please contact Campus technical support.

  1. Enter the option “Sistema de estudiantes”
  2. In the upper right corner, click on the option “Solicitar contraseña”.
  3. Fill in the requested data, and click on “Enviar contraseña”.
  • The system will show to which email the password will be sent (personal email and institutional email).
  • In case the personal e-mail does not correspond, please contact the Academic Coordination and request the adjustment in your resume in the academic information system.

Next to the option “Acceso a Nuevas Versiones” you will find the option “Contraseña Nuevas Versiones”, through which you can request a new password to be sent to your registered e-mail address.

Through the University’s home page “www.uis.edu.co”, select in the resources block the option (@correo.uis.edu.co), where you will see the e-mail policy for UIS students and professors. Then, you must click on “Acepto”. This option will redirect you to the Outlook, where you must enter the e-mail address and password provided to you.

  1. Once you are in your institutional mail inbox, go to the top right of the page, and click on the profile picture.
  2. Click on “Ver cuenta”.
  3. Go to the panel on the left and click on “Aplicaciones de Office”.

4. Within the options that are displayed in the center, click on “Instalar Office”. Then, the download of the executable for the installation starts.

5. Run the installer, and in case you are prompted to log in for license activation, enter your login credentials to your institutional email account.

1. Verify that it is connected to the electrical outlet or connection port, and that the connection is tight at each end.

2. If the problem persists, verify that there is power at the outlet by unplugging the equipment in question and plugging in another piece of equipment so that you can see a power signal from it.

3. If the second piece of equipment does not turn on, it is most likely a power failure problem at the outlet, so you should report it to the Facilities and Physical REsources Office at the Campus (extension 5511).

4. If the second computer turns on, report the problem to the IT Services office (ext. 5523).
